5th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry

The Fifth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was accepted in the N-SSA in the fall of 1974 with eight members. Our team’s focus was to represent the original 5th as authentically as possible while striving to also better our marksmanship. Our present membership contains various levels of competitive shooters as well as those who are mainly interested in the historical aspect of our sport.  Though our focus is competing in the N-SSA, we also have participated in both reenactments and historical presentations.

Although much of our membership are in the eastern end of the state, we also have members who reside in Maine, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. At any time, you may see a son or daughter shooting beside their parent on the line.

If you love Civil War history and friendly competitive competition, please contact us on our Facebook page: N-SSA 5th Connecticut Volunteers.
